Garbage Disposals
Jams, hums, and rusted-through housings. Repaired when that makes sense, replaced when it doesn't.
Disposals fail in a few predictable ways. The motor hums but the plate will not turn. The reset button stops holding. Or the housing rusts through and drips into the cabinet, which most people notice by smell before they notice the water.
A jam or a seized plate we can usually clear on the same visit. A leaking shell means replacement, and we'll say so rather than charging for a repair that buys you two months.
