About us
Thirty-five years of other people's hard jobs.
Positive Plumbing has been family owned and operated out of Livermore since 1993.
Seth founded the company and it is still owner-operated. That is not a marketing line. It means there is no layer between the person who looks at your job and the person who does it, and no incentive for anyone to talk you into work you do not need.
What we actually do is service and repair. It sounds like a small distinction and it is not. A new-construction plumber works on a clean slate with drawings and open walls. Service work means arriving at a finished house with a problem nobody has been able to find, reading what thirty years of previous repairs did to the system, and getting to the fault without demolishing the place to reach it.
That is why we end up third in line fairly often. Two shops have already been out, the problem is still there, and now there is a patch job to undo before the real repair can start. We are fine with that. It is most of what thirty-five years teaches you.
Smaller calls still matter here. A disposal that quit, a water heater weeping at the base, a faucet that has been dripping since spring. Those are usually how people meet us, and then they call back when something serious goes wrong.
How we work
- 35 years in the trade
- Long enough that most of what comes up is something we have already run into once.
- Service and repair
- Not new construction. Diagnosing and fixing existing systems is a separate skill and it is the one we sharpened.
- Owner-operated
- The person quoting your job is connected to the person doing it. Nobody in between with a sales target.
- Licensed and insured
- California contractors license C36-744023, covering residential and light commercial work.
- Pricing up front
- We go over the number before work starts and explain what is driving it.
- Homes and small commercial
- Mostly houses, plus restaurants and small commercial properties around the valley.
Our corner of the valley
Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and San Ramon. Staying inside the Tri-Valley is deliberate. It is the only way same-day service actually works.
